Dead Night is the first part in a trilogy of zombie horror- comedy satire stories told within a shared timeline. The series will attempt to explore themes of essential labor, disposability, acceptable losses, homelessness, and minimum-wage customer service work. It follows Hector, a 2O-something stoner slacker living a comfortable-enough life working the night shift at his local Guajillo restaurant—an imitation Mexican fast-food chain. The story focuses on the first night of a zombie outbreak. The setting exists in a post COVID-19 world.
